Worship Services at 8:30 in the chapel and 11:00 in the Sanctuary September - May. June - August one service is held in the Sanctuary at 9:30.
We invite you to become a member of our church family. You may indicate your desire on the "Who's Who in the Pew" form located in the pew rack, speaking to the minister, or calling us at 757-428-6332. If you are not ready to join but would like more information please send us an email. We'll be happy to answer all your questions. We welcome into membership of First Presbyterian Church anyone who professes Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and wishes to follow the Christian way of life. New Members are received in the following ways: - Letter of Transfer for those who are members of another Presbyterian church or a church of another denomination which grants letters of transfer. We will write to your former church and request the letter. - Confession of Faith for those who have never been members of a Christian church. Profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and baptism (if one has not been previously baptized) are required of those who have not previously belonged to a church. - Reaffirmation of Faith for those who belong to a church which does not grant letters of transfer to other denominations or for those whose membership in another church has lapsed. Join the Cherub and Carol choirs on Sunday, May 5th at 9:45 AM for the retelling of the Exodus story. “Are We There Yet?” captures the humor and humanity of Moses, Miriam, Aaron, Joshua and the Pharaoh. The story is told almost entirely through songs that communicate the eternal truths within the story of Moses and the Exodus in a fun and memorable way. A light breakfast follows the musical provided by the CE committee and the choir parents.
